I stamped the bottom panel with a background stamp (don't know whose it is), then I gold embossed it. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a Spellbinders embossing folder. Then I sponged over the whole thing with Walnut distress ink. The gold embossing resisted the ink and of course the ink didn't go into the depressed part of the embossing, so I wound up with a white walnut and gold background. This is one of my favourite techniques.

FABULOUS bg that you created, Jo. Your Victorian styled sentiment font and "frame" go so perfectly with it....as do the lovely embossed/die cut hearts. Gorgeous card....what you do BEST!

That is a cool technique..thanks for the explanation. The gold and embossing gives this a vintage feel but the white has a modern edge to it..if that makes sense. A beautiful card Jo!
