Congrats to Shannan, today's Featured Stamper! I chose Wishing You Comfort to case. I kept the layout but turned it. I changed the images, the colors and moved my sentiment from the center to a separate panel.
All images are Innovative Stamp Creations, just released last Friday. The fern was stamped w/ gold ink onto vanilla c/s, embossed w/ gold ep and cut w/ a Spellbinders oval die. I sponged the edges w/ mustard colored ink from the Kpad and edged it w/ a Krylon pen. It's a attached to a rust layer. I did the same to the sentiment, but die cut it w/ a nestie tag die.
The frame was created w/ a piece of handmade paper. I have bunch of this I bought a long time ago. It's fairly thick but it's not the best to stamp on since it's a little rough and super absorbent. I tried to do a water color wash w/ red, orange, yellow and green dye reinkers, but because of the paper, it didn't work. The colors kind of sat there in splotches. So I washed over the whole thing w/ a mustard color. Still didn't like it. Then I tried a wash w/ lt gold acrylic paint, thinned w/ water. Now I liked it, and this is the final result. After it dried, I used a larger nestie oval to cut out the middle and attached the frame on top of my other layers.
I scribbled a mixture of gold and copper Krylon pens onto some scrap cardboard (ok, all cardboard is scrap, but this is scrap of scrap) and punched 4 circles out and attached to the corners.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them

This is so great - I almost hate looking at your cards because they are so great that they make mine look primitive! The color washing and all that are just amazing!
