I chose this color combo from our inspiration site today here to make my one layer card.
Stamped the scene in my MISTI, using markers and small ink pads - adding bits of color at a time and stamping repeatedly. When I was satisfied, I cleaned my stamp and then stamped with versamark and clear embossed the whole scene. Then I masked for my moon and the snow across the bottom, so I could sponge my sky. Splattered white acrylic paint for snow, added some snow on some of the branches with a white gel pen, then embossed the sentiment in white. Removed masks and sponged softly around edges of the card. Love how this is just a one layer card! Jill Foster has some great videos of this technique if you are interested - she is a master!!

Maura....so, so LOVELY a winter scene! Super masked by with the bright moon on a cold winter's night! The branches and trees look like they are glazed with a frosting of ice! Just fabulous!

Gasp! Is this ever a gorgeous card! Your background is absolutely amazing and truly highlights your beautiful trees. I am so in love with the sentiment you used on this card. ~Karen.
