This is for IC289 and the Italian Pottery Outlet was our inspiration site. I was inspired by the rustic art in Quadri Collection and tried my hand at reproducing the Primavera Plate. http://www.italianpottery.com/item/Primavera-Plate-649 AS I said in my tile...mine really isn't pretty or as light and whimsical as the plate but I sure had fun stretching myself out of my comfort zone.
I used SU markers to sketch in lines for the tree, house and path and then lightly washed the lines with a wet brush and filled in color. I used a couple of scenery stamps from Art Impressions for some of the grasses and flowers. I sketched in some as well. I got a little carried away with the burgundy marker up ont he ridge above the house. I was trying to create the look of a vinyard but my wet brush was too wet and smudged all the fine details. Oh well....you just keep moving forward. I almost didn't post this but I had so much fun trying it that I thought it was worth sharing. That is what I love about our community. We can feel safe to share all of our attempts whether wonderful or mediocre.
