This is for IC289 and the Italian Pottery Outlet was our inspiration site. I was inspired by the rustic art in Quadri Collection and tried my hand at reproducing the Primavera Plate. http://www.italianpottery.com/item/Primavera-Plate-649 AS I said in my tile...mine really isn't pretty or as light and whimsical as the plate but I sure had fun stretching myself out of my comfort zone.
I used SU markers to sketch in lines for the tree, house and path and then lightly washed the lines with a wet brush and filled in color. I used a couple of scenery stamps from Art Impressions for some of the grasses and flowers. I sketched in some as well. I got a little carried away with the burgundy marker up ont he ridge above the house. I was trying to create the look of a vinyard but my wet brush was too wet and smudged all the fine details. Oh well....you just keep moving forward. I almost didn't post this but I had so much fun trying it that I thought it was worth sharing. That is what I love about our community. We can feel safe to share all of our attempts whether wonderful or mediocre.

Well gee, if I produced this I wouldn't think twice about sharing it! You may not feel it's up to your standards, but the instant I saw it I knew your inspiration. I loved that set of tiles, but the Spring one was my favourite. Even the colour of the roof and the white dusty look of the track up to the house have a very warm Mediterranean feel to them - there's no way that could be an Irish scene.
