This card is for this week's Ways To Use It challenge- use only patterned paper or design paper on your project (except for the card base). This was such a fun challenge...and a very challenging challenge. I kept reaching for solid cs for matting and had to slap my own hand!
I pulled out my Berry Bliss dsp to use for this card, I got it a couple of weeks ago and haven't used it yet. Mr. Brown brought me a box today (albeit, a drop-kicked box!), and wouldn't you know that it had my Essence of Love set. Of course I had to use that! I stamped the "weed" image on my pink dsp in close to cocoa ink. I then stamped the butterflies above the "weeds", I used the rock-n-roll technique with pretty in pink and close to cocoa ink. I lightly sponged close to cocoa ink around the top edge of this panel. The bottom layer is the same pink dsp and is matted with some close to cocoa dsp from the same pack (Berry Bliss), as is the main image panel. I sponged close to cocoa ink around the edges of the bottom pink layer. The second layer is the cocoa dsp I used for matting, but I wanted to show some of it off. I used my distressing tool around the edges. I stamped the sentiment (from All Holidays) on very vanilla cs in close to cocoa ink. I punched it out with the designer label punch. I sponged over the entire panel with pretty in pink and then around the edges with close to cocoa. I put one of the new styled silver Hodgepodge Hardware frames around it. I knotted some of the new 1/4" chocolate chip polytwill ribbon (LOVE this stuff!!!) through each end of the frame and wrapped the ribbon around the base layer of the card. I used some Tombo Multi to adhere the silver frame to the card front.
I had lots of fun using a bunch of my new goodies to make this card! I've been in a bit of a slump and this was good for getting me back into the groove! Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
