do any of you remember doing scribble drawings as a kid? i used to love doing them. for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, you just scribbled on a piece of paper with a black crayon...just loose circular loops and twists. then you colored in each little section. i've done them more recently on whimsical painted furniture, where i filled the sections in with prints and patterns. that's what the inspiration cake reminded me of.
the background is all hand done with no stamping, scribble drawing style, using markers. the only stamping is the happy birthday and the added on stars. the stars are cut out and hot glued to toothpicks colored black with a marker. the toothpicks are hot glued to the back of the added panel so they stand out from the card a little. the most difficult thing for me in doing this card was putting pink and red on the same card (cringe), lol!
sorry for such a long-winded explanantion. thanks for looking!

Boy Deb, this card is so not you -- in style only!! But, I can see you are multi-talented (well always have known that) and can do many different styles and still have them come out gorgeous. I cannot believe you hand drew those diamonds -- they are perfect!! Outstanding job on this challenge -- I think you win hands-down. (Boy am I glad I took the time to visit your gallery today, can't believe all the new and gorgeous cards!).
