do any of you remember doing scribble drawings as a kid? i used to love doing them. for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, you just scribbled on a piece of paper with a black crayon...just loose circular loops and twists. then you colored in each little section. i've done them more recently on whimsical painted furniture, where i filled the sections in with prints and patterns. that's what the inspiration cake reminded me of.
the background is all hand done with no stamping, scribble drawing style, using markers. the only stamping is the happy birthday and the added on stars. the stars are cut out and hot glued to toothpicks colored black with a marker. the toothpicks are hot glued to the back of the added panel so they stand out from the card a little. the most difficult thing for me in doing this card was putting pink and red on the same card (cringe), lol!
sorry for such a long-winded explanantion. thanks for looking!

This looks very much inspired by the cake. How cool is it that it is pretty much hand drawn! I am so impressed! That was the funnest Inspiration Challenge, I thought! I loved that funky cake!

Goodness, don't apologize for providing an insight into your inspiration ... I love to read how other people create ... I used to do those drawings on the back of the church bulletin when I was young ... never thought of re-visiting it as an adult, but now I will. This is just fabulous ... love it.

Love your doodles...it reminds me of a wharped version of the cake picture, that funky formatting you can do with pictures...very cool! The central sentiment just holds it all together so nicely too.
