Stef is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a beautiful combo of Barely Blue, Coastal Cabana and Tranquil Tide. The dessert option is "leaves." Check!
I used one of my favorite techniques, Faux Mother of Pearl. This design was also inspired by Loll Thompson. I started by crumpling up a piece of plastic wrap and dabbing it into a drop of Frost White paint that I'd dripped onto my craft mat. Then dab, dab, dab, over the small card, leaving lots of space uncovered. Then I sponged Barely Blue and Coastal Cabana over the card, with a heavier edging of Coastal Cabana along the edges. I hope you can see that the frost paint resists the ink and shows through as "faux mother of pearl."
I die cut the leaves from Tranquil Tide cardstock and shaped them with a stylus tool to give some dimension. Then I randomly touched Silver Inka Gold here and there on the stems and leaves. Stamped my greeting with Tranquil Tide ink.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
