I made this card for this week's TeaPot Tuesday challenge which is, "A Blast From the Past." Sandy (Stampingwriter) is asking us to use products from the past - which means before embossing folders and dies. Fun! How I remember when I first started stamping and there were plastic stencils to help us fussy cut out shapes, embossing powder, mulberry paper and maybe a couple of decorative edge scissors. So, I pulled out one of my very first stamp sets from 1993 (that tells you how long I have been stamping) to use on this card. I fussy cut the image panel and I tore the mulberry paper. I masked off a duck that was sitting on the books so I could stamp candle sticks there instead. I regret not heat embossing the sentiment because I still think heat embossing is like magic. I had to go on a hunt for my colored pencils, and it took awhile to find them. They are no name with a price tag of $2.99 so again, that tells you how old they are. Pencils are hard for me to use with my hands so markers are easier, but I did enjoy pulling them out and using them on this card today. I truly had a blast remembering back how we used to stamp and making this card today. Thanks for looking! ~Karen.

Heat embossing -- it's still magic to me. Lovely card with its sweet image and sentiment. I never really got into corner punches, but if I had, I would have gotten the one you used here. And yay for mulberry paper.

Karen, first of all, it's great to see some fall peeking at me. Great masking skills and you do torn paper perfectly! Love the special corners and the brads. I think it's a very pretty card and works now.

Karen, your card is delightfully charming with wisdom! It’s fun to color with pencils and forget about that all the time. Love the layout and the texture you created with your fussycutting and mulberry paper! Lovely card my friend!
