The SU spools of satin ribbons (and many Michael's) fit perfectly in this plastic raingutter that hangs from an above-window shelf in my stamp room. The grosgrain ribbon spools had too large a diameter... so I cut, folded, & secured foam-board into something shaped somewhat like the raingutter. Previously my spools were on rods that were a royal pain if I needed to take a spool off that wasn't on the end (and of course the end ones weren't the ones I needed down). I've tried about 5 or 6 different ways organizing my ribbons and this has been VERY satisfactory to me and had no drawbacks.

I am waiting for my room to be finished (4 more weeks.... :( )
Then I am going to try to convince DH that I "NEED" this! I hate having ribbon on dowels!
