Finally, I've managed to sit down and use some of the tips I' ve learned while taking an encaustic class.
This was done on a Amersand clayboard board using multi colored enkaustikos wax paints using a demar medium.
It's a time consuming process since each layer of almost splattered wax paint has to be coated with clear wax to give it that 3D look. I dont know if I'll try this again because it's so expensive and so incredibly messy. It's definitely not for those who dont love to clean up gigantic messes. Not only that, but the card doesnt stand upright without support. Several layers of encaustic wax paints become extremely heavy.

Time consuming - yes. Expensive - yes. Messy - yes.
BUT WHAT A PIECE OF ART!!!!!!!!
Go on with that encaustic thing... hey, an artist just doesn't have a clean and tidy working space!!!! You just have to declare your working space as part of your art, LOL!!!

Truly fabulous! Belongs in a gallery! But you are correct it is a tad expensive (unless you can sell your fabulous creations) and it is a whole lot messy ...but sooooo well worth it!!!

Okay, Anne, this one FLOORED me. My little pea brain doesn't understand that BIG WORD; but, the rest of me is in awe of the masterful effec of this technique. It was certainly worth the effort. I don't think they have this fancy encaustic wax at the BFC; but, perhaps if I make a donation with all my royal money, they will have some available in the craft room! Astounding and STELLAR!

Wow, this is amazing, Anne! A true work of art. Sounds very time-consuming, but the result is stunning. Beautiful work.
