Finally, I've managed to sit down and use some of the tips I' ve learned while taking an encaustic class.
This was done on a Amersand clayboard board using multi colored enkaustikos wax paints using a demar medium.
It's a time consuming process since each layer of almost splattered wax paint has to be coated with clear wax to give it that 3D look. I dont know if I'll try this again because it's so expensive and so incredibly messy. It's definitely not for those who dont love to clean up gigantic messes. Not only that, but the card doesnt stand upright without support. Several layers of encaustic wax paints become extremely heavy.

OMGosh! This is really fabulous, Anne! It's truly a work of art! I've always enjoyed Brigit's encaustic cards and thought about trying something, but hadn't looked into it yet. Glad to know it's pretty involved, before I decide.

Oh.My.Goodness! I really hope you can continue with this technique... your results are phenomenal! I would so like to take a class in this very intriguing process. Love your artwork Anne, and dare I say, I think you've outgrown your quirky stage.

Well cleaning messes is not my forté and you've used a few words that I haven't heard before (encaustic, demar, enkaustikos) so I'm going to take your word for it and just be WOWed by your awesome creation. It's more than a card - you need to frame it dear Annie-Jo. You da bomb. Big-time! By the way, have you seen the fuss our dear Pamzi is creating over this crown she's wearing this week. To say that her crown has 'gone to her head' would be a gross understatement. That Flake.

Jaw dropping gorgeousness going on here! Boy Miss Anne, that class paid off. This is such a piece of art. I love it. I bought a set of encaustic wax, iron, papers, etc., awhile back but have been too intimidated to give it a go. Maybe, just maybe after seeing this card and hopefully you will share some how to's with me, I might just give it a try. LOVE THIS! Not bad for an old lady. hehe TFS :0) ....P. S...keep a look out. That's all I'm going to say.
