It's National Kitten day and National Pina Colada day (who knew). Our Free for All challenge this week is to be inspired by one (or both) of these two national days.
I have taken my inspiration from National Pina Colada day and created some festive fun using a Craftin Desert Diva digi image. I resized the image 3 times, coloured with Prismacolour Pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a colourless blending pencil. After fussy cutting, I adhered the festive unicorns to the background.
The background is a by-product of me practicing all the fabulous Watercolour Wednesday challenges. When ever I have inky puddles or watercolour paint left over, I use regular carstock to mop up the mess (I have a huge collection LOL).
To add some extra festive fun, I added dots using my new Jane Davenport "Ladybug Dotter". They are ink filled markers that create dots in various sizes, depending how hard you push. To give a bokeh effect I dipped my little finger in diluted white paint and gently put my finger on top of some of the bright coloured dots to give a muted effect.
I wouldn't rush out and buy these markers for my card making, but they are great fun to use in my art journal (the weirdo journal, not the nice one). I have learnt my lesson with craft consumables - use them or loose them. I have a graveyard of products that have dried up, clogged up or seized up! What about you?
I hope you get a chance to join us and have some inky fun. Stay safe.

Well this just screams FESTIVE! Love the colors and, as always, your coloring is amazing. Fun fun background -- love the bokeh effect-- and your doodles are the perfect touch. But that feather takes it over the top. I am imaging one of those unicorns was wearing a boa and lost a feather.
Oh yes, I do have dried up, clogged up and seized up supplies too. Its a crafty hazard, I think.
Thanks for the big grin. This festive card makes me want to dance -- maybe after a couple Pina Coladas I will.

Love the colorful card...BG is excellent and your coloring on the image is perfect in shading and highlighting! Feather trim is an awesome detail.

Am I the only one who thinks 'Unicorn Pinatas'? These are just fabulous, bold with colors and that giant feather. Definitely a party in a card. Now to come back with my own festive card. The challenge is thrown down.

I like Polly think your festive unicorns look like party pinatas. You captured the look of tissue paper with the pencil coloring. It's great to see a happy card these days. We need some cheer, and you provide that with your fun card. Everyone can relate to items we purchased and let dry up..... Hugs and you have a great day. TFS
