This is for KellyJean's fun "Punched Washi" challenge. We did have the option to die-cut, which is a good thing seeing as most of my punches struggle to punch cardstock.
I have a love hate relationship with washi tape. I have heaps of them and sadly half are no longer sticky, the printed paper has separated from the sticky bit. Since I discovered this a few months ago, I now use the remaining tapes as masking tape, I figure I might as well get some use out of them before they go to the craft graveyard.
I love my Julie Nutting doll stamps and I really don't know why I rarely use them...oh well this cutie got inky today.
I started by placing different washi tapes on a scrap of cardstock and running the feather die through the Vagabond lots of times.
I stamped the image onto a scrap of card, then layered the feathers to resemble a skirt. I then stamped the image on the front panel, did lots of scoring (which does not show up in the photo), coloured her shoes, bodice and headband with a black pen.
Finally I glued on her skirt, added some twine and placed the panel on a card base that had been edged with more washi tape.
I tried to channel my inner Angie (Ohmypapers!) when staging the photo. Thank you for looking.
Tip: I used my MISTI to stamp the image, the card has a linen finish so multiple stamping was required. A lot of my cling stamps don't cling anymore. I use a swipe of glue from a kids school glue stick to adhere it to MISTI. Just wipe the glue off MISTI and the stamp with an alcohol free baby wipe.

Oh, sis, this is gorgeous! Now I sort of wish I hadn't given away my one Julie Nutting stamp. I love the washi tape you've used and how you've made such a gorgeous feathery dress for her! She's magnificent, and I love your staging!!! Ooh, la, la!! Hugs, sis! xoxo

Oh sis you so succeeded in the staging. I LOVE the bg actually , very neat wood. Glad you did bring this stamp out too, she is so cute. You should be a clothes designer...this would be fun to wear...sweet job with the washi tape. I agree, with the tape, one reason I have never used my tape either. Even at the beginning it never stuck well, but this worked OK had to glue down edges though. Maybe one could stick the tape onto cardstock and use a embossing folder to help it stick...hmmm....might have to try that...Great job though sis...HUGS...TFS..:0)

OMGosh, I love this, Susie!! You are so creative and it is always a blast to see a new card that you've designed! Thank you for your lovely compliment on my DTGD mermaid, too (blushing)

I am totally grinning that you staged her and the way you used your tape is brilliant ( I have that same relationship with mine) (I've started using it on the backs of envelopes.. and sometimes it just curls right up ha ha)

Another wonderful creation with lots and lots of details. Love it. You find the most creative ways to use up things from your stash - and the use of the washi tape to create a layered dress is something special. Another hint to file away in my "useful ideas" file.

This is one of the most spectacular and creative uses of washi that I have ever seen! WOW, you nailed it on this one. Love that border too! My use of washi is now to strictly hold the hearing aid battery in since they are so old and keep falling out. Never used it on a card but it's the solid color stuff. In black and white this is one of your most outstanding works of art!
