ETA:Oh god, I'm such a maroon...this thread was at the top of the challenge forum, and I just assumed it was today's WT, but it turns out to be an old one...duh! Hahaha...well, hopefully I can play some more later with the real challenge!
Today's ways to use it challenge was to use velum. I hardly ever use velum - I just don't think about it for some reason, so this was fun.
I embossed the butterflies on the front of the velum with white ep, then colored them on the back with markers. The dp underneath has a little bit of blue in it, and I wanted to use blue on the butterflies...the only blue marker I had was night of navy, and I think it turned out too dark. Oh well...live and learn. What do you think?
Oh, also, I sponged barely banana around the front edges of the velum, then flipped it over and sponged ruby red around the edges, going toward the center just a bit more than the yellow on the front. I really liked how that turned out.
I didn't add a sentiment, but whenever I come up with an occasion for the card, my thought is to add a sentiment to the center between the two butterflies.
The dp shows through the velum a little better in person...lol - doesn't everything look better in person?!? TFL!
