I don't know about you, but I struggle when it comes to making cards for boys and men. I just don't have a feel for them. My nephew's birthday is coming up so I decided to do the dry embossing challenge to get me motivated. I started by picking some great basketball DP from DCWV. He attended basketball camp this summer so I thought he'd like that. I then ran it through my Big Kick with the Cuttlebug dots folder. I then distressed the dots a bit with fine sandpaper. I mounted the DP onto a black card. Next I stamped the basketball image and the words on Basic Grey DP with black Versafine ink. I cut out each piece separately. I colored the basketball image with colored pencils and a pencil blending pen. I then cut a rectangle around it and tore off bottom edge. I distressed edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I mounted it onto a piece of orange cardstock and trimmed around it. I tore the bottom off it and edged with same ink. I mounted it flat as shown. Next I cut closely around the "swoosh" and mounted it on orange cardstock cutting close again. I mounted this on Dimensionals from SU! as shown. Lastly, I trimmed "super star" into a rectangle and double matted it on orange and then on glitter black cardstock(DCWV). I highlighted "super star" with my clear Stardust gel pen. I mounted this at the top of the card with dimensionals. All stamps are from See-D's.
