I have loved these cute little bee images from Stampendous ever since I first started seeing them on other blogger's sites. I happened to see this one on sale the other day and thought what a great 4th of July card it would make.
When I started this one I decided to employ Markie's Mom's technique of adding the dots to some of my mats. I loved her work before, but I truly respect it now...lol! It took me quite a bit of time to get all those little dots on these cards, but I loved how it turned out.
The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and was part of a big pack I just got. I stamped the "celebrate" using Blue Bayou then overstamped it with Soft Sky to create a shadow on the words. The bee was stamped using Black Staz-On, then colored in with Copic markers. It is hard to see on the picture, but the antennae have Spica glitter pen over the top of them.
In order the match the font on the words I stamped the "July" with the word set "Full Calendar", then inked up the individual letters from the set to the the "Fourth" stamped out.
Thanks for looking, and have a fun and safe 4th of July!
