I used the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) software program available at http://www.craftedge.com and my Expression Cricut machine to make this card. The dingbat font I used is called DB Spring Fling available at http://www.scrapnfont.com. The actual size is 8"x6" as this was the first paper piecing I've ever done. The base of the flower and hummingbird is a brown paper and then I glued the other pieces on top of that. The bird is actually a greenish color but the photo kind of looks blue. One thing I learned is that because of the font, I should have probably made an image file in Photoshop Elements and then imported the image into Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.com) to break apart the pieces so that I would have separate pieces to just cut out and put together. Instead I had to cut the flowers twice (pink paper and yellow paper) for the petals and center and same for the bird to get the body and belly. It was a painless lesson, but one I will certainly remember.
