This card is for today's sketch challenge. The sketch used an offset oval, which was the perfect excuse to pull-out my oval nestabilities!!!
I was wanting to make something blue today, so I used soft sky and blue bayou as my main colors. I accented them with chocolate chip- I love the blue-brown color combo! The main bg layer is soft sky and is matted with chocolate chip and blue bayou sc. I stamped the flower bg from Boho Backgrounds on the soft sky cs with blue bayou ink. I used my scalloped and regular large oval nestabilities to make the oval layers. The scalloped layers are chocolate chip cs. The bottom regular layer is bayou and the top layer is very vanilla. I sponged some chocolate chip ink around the edges of the vanilla oval. I stamped the large flower from One of A Kind in chocolate chip ink on the vanilla oval. I also stamped the flower on soft sky cs and blue bayou cs with chocolate chip ink. I cut out the soft sky flower and adhered it over the one on the vanilla oval using a dimensional. I cut out the inner "scalloped" portion of the bayou flower, and adhered it to the soft sky flower with a dimensional. The top layer of the flower is from the 3-flower image in One of A Kind, and it is stamped on soft sky with chocolate chip ink. I used the Boho Blossoms punch to punch it out. The small groups of flowers on the right end of the oval are also from the 3-flower image in One of A Kind, and were all punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch. I stamped the image twice on soft sky with blue bayou ink, twice on soft sky with chocolate chip ink, and once on very vanilla with chocolate chip ink. The middle (vanilla) flower is adhered with SNAIL and a dimensional (on the right end). THe other flowers are all adhered and layered with dimensionals. Finally, I decided to add some of my yummy chocolate chip satin ribbon, from Theater ribbon originals, to my card. I ran a strip, vertically, around the center of the card and then tied a bow around the lower portion of it. Finally, I added some blue self-adhesive crystals (from Me & My Big Ideas) to the centers of all the flowers- it just had to have a little bling!
I think I am going to give this card to my MIL for Mother's Day, blue is her favorite color and this is definitely blue!
Thanks for looking!!!
