These are a couple of criss cross cards that I made for my mom and friend Beth, they are each having a catalogue party and I wanted to make some samples for them to show around. Here is the link to Beate's tutorial: Criss Cross Card Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers. This card is so fun and easy to make, I should make more of them!
The main base of the card is close to cocoa. The layers over the criss cross are pretty in pink that I stamped with the cherry blossom from Embrace life. The blossoms are stamped in close to cocoa and I colored in the blooms with my white watercolor pencil. The card band is made with chocolate chip cs. A strip of pretty in pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the band. I stamped the large bloom from Embrace Life on very vanilla with close to cocoa ink. I used a light pink watercolor pencil to shade in areas of the bloom. I cut the bloom out and attached it to the band. The insert was made with a bottom layer of chocolate chip cs and a top layer of very vanilla cs. I used my round tab punch to create the chocolate chip pull for the insert. I also used the corner rounder on the top corners of the insert. I sponged pretty in pink around the edges of the very vanilla layer of the insert. I stamped the long stem from Embrace Life down the left side of the insert. I stamped it again on a piece of pretty in pink cs, cut out the bloom, and attached it over the pull. I stamped the bamboo shoot image along the top of the insert in pretty in pink. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and is stamped in close to cocoa.
Thanks for looking!
