This butterfly is rather large, she's 5 x 6 3/4". I'm calling her "she" because she has far too many jewels to be a male.
I first stamped the image on watercolor paper and embossed with gold/gold tinsel EP. I then watercolored the floral and leaves on the wings. Once that was dry I watercolored the main body with a mixture of Pearl Ex and gum arabic. I adhered black and gold micro beads to the lower body and head. I adhered Swarovski crystals to the upper body. I then adhered Swarovski crystals to the floral in the lower wings. I used Crystal Effects on the antennae for added strength and used it as an adhesive for the beads and crystals.
All of the Swarovski beads and crystals were purchased at either Michael's or JoAnn's (JoAnn's has the better selection).
This butterfly can be used as a gift tag or made into a card, which is probably what I'll do with her.

I think this one is my favourite. I can't get over how transparent you've colored the body to look. They have such a delicate quality to them! How pretty they will look on your Easter table!
