Well, this is my first Monday Demo Challenge as hostess – I wanted to start off easy, and after all, the purpose of the challenge is to come up with an easily demonstratable card that will still leave customers “oooing” and “ahhing”!!! And this card has all that, plus the added benefit of showing our customers why they need our punches – LOL!!!!!!
OK, hereÂ’s some helpful hints and tips:
1. I cut a full size piece of cardstock in half lengthways and folded it in half – 2 cards from one piece of cardstock (and apart from a couple of small strips of DP and a couple of small pieces of cardstock for the main image, this is all the card stock you need!!!!)
2. I then trimmed about ¾” from the lower edge of the front of the card base
3. Using the Slit Punch, I punched the back of the card base half way along to allow the front to “fit” neatly into the slit. This is important to ensure the card lays flat.
4. I stamped the front of the card with my background before I punched out the window
5. Once I punched my larger window in the front of the card, I then placed my DP over the top – I’ve layered my DP to show off both sides – and then I cut out the window again, ensuring that it lined up with the one previously punched in the front of the card base. (I did this to make sure I got my adhesive on the DP and card stock and not on the piece that I ended up punching out!!!!)
6. The important aspect of this card is lining up the mounted image on the inside of the cardstock, so you can see it through your window on the front – I just used my snail adhesive but didn’t press it to the card stock firmly until I’d made sure it was in the right place
7. Add a piece of ribbon and stamp a sentiment on the lower part of the card which is in fact the inside of the card and viola – all done!!!!!
This is a great design to use if you’re doing a SAS – very quick and easy and simplistic in it’s design. It can be dressed up or left simple – but definitely an easy card to demo at any workshop or class!!!!
