These ornaments were fairly simple to make, and a lot of fun. First I stamped the images on firm card stock, then I cut it out leaving 1/4" border all around. I then traced the shape of the cut out onto 1/4" pine wood, and cut out the shape with a scroll saw. I sealed the wood with white pickling gel, and then I stamped the image on the wood using a black color box and Clear EP. I used to use a stamp positioner for the stamping, but now with acrylic block mounts, its easy to see for positioning, so that is what I used. After heating the EP, I colored the images in with watered down acrylics, added ultra fine prisma glitter, and a spray sealer...and then put a hanger in the top to make the little ornament/gift tag. You could leave the hole out of the top, and put it in the bottom and add a shish Ka Bob skewer and make it a plant pick, or drill a hole to hang with a string/jute....or you could put magnet tape on the back for a magnet, or a pin back....such a versatile project! i need to find some ribbon to match my colors as I think they need a little "finishing touch" at the top by the heart hangers. I used a hanger template that is made by Darcie's Country Folk Rubber Stamps to make the wire hangers. Thanks for looking! I dont get time to post many pics...
