I've have wanted to try a *Kittie* card for months, so today I printed the tutorial and decided to give it a whirl. It's is for my wonderful mother for Thanksgiving. Well, first thing Kittie said was to draw a tree! I almost quit there and then, since I have absolutely no artistic ability. Then, she talked about watercoloring and I am a true failure at it in spite of the patience of my friend and SU! demo Lisa. And then, I didn't have half the supplies- didn't even know what some of them were.
I plunged forward anyway and here is the product of a whole day at the table. Masking, coloring, spilling the gamsol on my work table (it's quite shiny now). You will note: One branch on the tree is darker than the others; I'm not sure what's up with the sky, I will call those funky spots clouds. I just couldn't get the grass the right shade. All in all, I think it looks pretty darn good. I am pleased.
But, and this is the important part, my dear dear mother will think it is the prettiest thing she has ever seen cause her darling daughter made it for her!! So, was it worth it? You betcha! I had a ball doing it and can't wait to do another one. Kittie, thanks for the great tutorial and your marvelous work. Thanks for listening and looking!!!

Diane, I think this is absolutely adorable. I also think you are being very hard on yourself. I love your little girl and your tree is wonderful. What do you the grass isn't the right color? It's all so perfectly wonderful and I know your mother will be thrilled as mine would have been. Please keep it up. Practice and repitition makes it get easier. I promise. And by the way....Landscape does not have to done with watercolor. Prismacolor Pencils, SU markers, any kind of markers, watercolor pencils, Copic markers, what ever is comfortable in your hand is what you need to use. And espeically whatever is fun for you to do is what you need to do. That is what the whole gig is about. Congratulations on taking a risk on your own talent. It's in there....just let it out.
