I'm in a SCS Sympathy Swap that challenged participants to incorporate shades of purple...here's my card, cased from a recent technique class, and "tweaked" to meet the swap requirements. Quick, easy, and so much fun to do...I am VERY grateful to an AMAZING SU demonstrator...thanks LeeAnn!

I love this. I think sympathy cards are the hardest to make & this one turned out so pretty. Great job on the technique - would you please pm me how you did this? I'd love to try it.

Oh my, thanks for all the comments and interest...I hope those who receive these in the swap are equally pleased! This card showcases the Serendipity Technique. I used SU Glossy White paper on which I applied SU Pretty in Pink, Lavendar Lace, Old Olive, and Plum Ink (spots) in order from lightest to darkest using the direct to paper technique and a randomly placed "swoosh" movement. I purposely left some white spaces here and there between the colors. After letting these dry completely, I continued with the direct to paper technique and a metalic silver ink pad to fill in the white spaces. This again must dry completely. I then covered the entire piece with my Versamark pad, sprinkled it all with Clear EP, and out came the heat gun to finish it off. I used black Stazon to stamp the SU "Lovely as a Tree" trees (and the words), and when completely dry, I cut the piece into equal squares. The squares were then adhered to the black, with the tiny space you see between each square. The background on the SU Lavendar Lace card is the fern-like stamp from SU "In Full Bloom" (Ret.) and was done in Versamark...what would life be like without Versamark??? I don't want to find out. :-D
LeeAnn offers the best technique classes...I hate to miss even one. I think it's her patience and enthusiasm that has this "NotGonnaGetHooked" girl TOTALLY hooked.
Thanks again for peeking in...and for the positive feedback! ~Sharon
