Thank you all so much for your kind comments and inspiration. Thanks to you all I decided that most of my frustration was due to the bad scan, so I took a picture and it came out a little better. I also put the scalloped circle over the ribbon and added a little glitter to the butterfly, wish I had used a brighter color.
