My husband was asked to bake a cheesecake by a friend -- it was for a special training event that they have been hosting, and the cake was to be part of the "graduation" celebration, thus the message that you see...
Well, I am not bad at decorating cakes, but I am not a pro, either -- I am, however, pretty good at stamping Sooooo...
The cheesecake cracked -- the ribbon was designed to sort of hide the crack while also providing a nice, rich effect. In real life, I think it achieved it pretty well -- the camera picked up the crack more than it showed...
I like the embossed edge -- the versamarker pen was key in getting that right with all the scallops... and I love the way the flourish on the C just fit in the scallop... it was a tight fit, but I think that the punch and stamp enhanced one another! Very simple, but I like the contemporary feel, rather than "overdoing" it with sponging or some other effect (which I did consider... but I was pressed for time ;^)* I DON'T like the way the glitter glue got away from me and smeared a tiny bit, and one dot is not where I wanted it... but hey, I am looking too closely!
Now I am thinking about stamping my kid's birthday cakes... imagine being able to do something incredible in advance and to place it on a pedestal of marshmallows... then to put it in the photo album next to all the great photos ;^)* I love to bake the cakes, but decorating at the last minute is tough (I want to be doing other things!) ... and this is such a nice solution!

Collaborating on this with him was TONS of fun. I am so lucky, and I know it! He loves to cook, and I am happy to let him. We do things in the kitchen together -- the things he can do with butter
Yum Yum! Remember the stamped cannister tags from the last catalog? I think stamping could go into the kitchen a lot more!
Except, I don't do kitchens- I have a DH who does it all!
Thanks for the idea of stamping images for the tops of cakes- I will remember this!
