The challenge I used was to make a patriotic card using the US colors of red, white and blue but not using patriotic images. My flag is a zebra stripes image and I think you can figure out thatÂ’s a heart.
The stripes image is inked up with red then I put burgundy over that to tone down the red on part of the image so it has a waving in the wind effect. The verdict is still out on that one but boy that sounded good didnÂ’t it!
The heart is colored with an H2o brush and pad ink. The USA is attached with glue. To add dimension to the card I cut a heart smaller than the image, corrugated it and attached it to the heart before attaching it to the card.
Oval punch: itÂ’s punched through the top layer of white then a white layer is stamped edged in the two red with direct to paper technique, one layer added under it and then attached to the blue.
The strips were assembled, punched then lined up to the oval and the ends cut flush with the white panel. The stars are attached with Diamond Glaze.
