After moving to Florida I began missing my friends from "back home" (Indiana) tremendously so I decided to create a Paper Bag Album that I could leave sit out on my table and thumb through whenever I was feeling "blue" and lonely.
I LOVE "matchy-matchy" stuff so of course I decided to go with the Looks Like Spring stamp set and matching flower punch and Designer Papers.
I soooo enjoyed creating this little "labor of love" and throughout the past year I have had fun "introducing" my new friends to my old ones.
The Poem was one I found online but tweaked it a bit to suit me. I typed this using the SU! font CD printed on vellum paper. It reads:
Friendship Garden
My friends have kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
They've planted all the good things
that give my life a start.
They turn me to the sunshine
and encourage me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem . . .
And when the winds and rain came,
they protected me enough --
But not too much because they knew
I'd need to be strong and tough.
Their constant good example
teaches me right from wrong --
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
This is my friendship garden
where we leave a legacy --
Of hopes and dreams we have
and love that allows us to be free.
