Every once in a while I get a request for custom invitations. Most recently I got a call from the wife of the owner of the company where I worked for almost 11 years. "Cleo" is turning 70, and is going to have a lunch at the country club with just her girl friends. She wanted me to come up with an invitation (75). Cleo has a great sense of style and is one of the classiest ladies I know. Her favorite color is red and she is going to have bouquets of red roses at every table. She told me she wanted something a little out of the ordinary so I came up with a little purse invitation. She said she's gotten lots of compliments on the invitations and that makes me happy because I really tried to design something that would reflect her sense of style.
The invite was done with Real Red and Basic Black Card Stock using the common "purse pattern" we see all over SCS. I cut the ovals for the flap using the CM cutting system and used a premade red satin ribbon roses as the clasp.
Pictures of the matching favors and guest book are also in my gallery.

OH I LOVE IT !!! I have been trying to come up with an idea for invitations for my nieces 18th birthday party and I think this would be perfect.
I will be serving lunch to all the girls and they will all get Mary Kay makeovers. It is going to be a "spa day" party.
Thank you soooo much for sharing

Based on what you wrote about the lady, I think you nailed the invitation right on. Definitely isn't your ordinary invitation and is indeed very classy looking. Great job.
