I cut my heart freehand from heavy watercolor paper, covered the heart with sticky dot adhesive, and then attached strips of metallic floral ribbon. I changed up the color pallette to coordinate with the ribbon and used stamps I had in my stash. I decided to follow her recommendation and omit the ribbon on the heart, but replaced it with some fiber across the top. This will make a great Mother's Day card for my sister-in-law who is expecting a baby this summer. Thanks for the inspiration.
