Don't you just love it when a card comes out exactly how you imagined it in your head? Well, this one didn't quite do that. My original idea was to sponge Taken with Teal in the flowers and leave the background as white space, but the Elegant Eggplant craft ink on the flowers turned out so dark when I embossed it with Iridescent Ice that they just about looked black, so I did eggplant on the flowers and teal on the background. I think maybe the teal sponge dauber picked up some of the EE ink because it looks a little dark to me. And now my EE ink pad has a little glitter in it
Anyway, this is one of my favorite go-to layouts when I need a card quick. I'm sure I've done this layout bunches of times. I think maybe this one coulda used some kind of background stamp on the teal card base, but it's 10:00 here and I wanna go to bed, so I'm not going to take it apart and put something there.
I FINALLY got CC66 right...I kept trying to put in Tempting Turquoise instead of Taken with Teal. I like how this turned out! If I hadn't already sent in my purple swaps, then I'd be dong this card for the swap...oh well, there's always next time ;) That birthday stamp is *still* the only one I've mounted out of It's Your Birthday....need to finish that up.
This is for a friend of mine whose birthday is on Friday...she was a bridesmaid in my wedding and wore a deep purple dress. She'd never had anything that color before and it looked *fabulous* on her so I thought I'd make a card starting with that same color. Wish I got to see her more often...my wedding was pretty much the last time I saw her. That's what happens when you live on opposite coasts.

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
