Light the Way to a Cure!
My husband's office is participating in the Relay For Life®™ this year in honor of one of the employees who lost his battle with cancer last May and two employees ... one in remission and one undergoing treatment. His office was told they could decorate the bag however they wanted and he bought them home to me.
When the sun goes down, hundreds of luminarias light the way under the stars and a moment of silence falls during the ceremony of hope. Luminarias are glowing bags that on first glance appear to be nothing more than paper sacks filled with sand and candles. But upon closer examination, these bags represent people, each with a name and a story to tell.
The ceremony of hope is one of the most special and moving events in the entire Relay For Life®™. Everyone gathers around to remember those lost to cancer, support those fighting cancer, and rejoice with those who have fought the disease and won.

These are just wonderful!!! I've participated in our county's Relay for Life several years and the luminary ceremony is always so touching...lots of tears when the piper plays Amazing Grace, but also very encouraging for those who are in treatments and the survivors. And I can honestly say I have NEVER seen any luminaries that can equal yours!! Outstanding!

Thanks for the lovely comments. These bags were especially made for David who passed away last May. David was not only a co-worker with my husband, but he and his wife Debbie and my husband and I have been friends for 27 years and are more family than friends so these were a loving tribute for him.

Great luminarias... a wonderful tribute to these special guys. I have participated in a Relay for Life and know what a special time the luminaria ceremony is.
