In early January there was a wonderful Limited Supplies Challenge to make sympathy cards for an NICU unit in Cleveland: Forums at Splitcoaststampers Well, my good friend (and SCS member) Karen Trueman is an NICU nurse right here in the Detroit area, so I asked her if she, Coleen (Briardlady here on SCS) and I could have our own little challenge and make some cards for her to have on hand at work. She really liked the idea, so we agreed to make six cards each, three boy/three girl (or six unisex). Karen's only requests were that we make them the normal A2 size and keep them fairly generic and non-religous. I chose to go the unisex route, and this is my card.
I stamped the butterfly image on watercolor paper using black Stazon and colored it with my aqua painter and reinkers (Lavender Lace and Ballet Blue). The edges are sponged with Certainly Celery and Mellow Moss. The scalloped layer is Perfect Plum, and I used the white Souffle pen to make the dots. The butterfly panel is popped up on dimensionals.

What a thoughtful gesture this is, Linda. It's hard enough to make a sympathy card, since it forces us to confront such painful circumstances. This card is beautfully done, with tender, loving thoughts. And the images fit so well with the sentiments you chose too. TFS this lovely card.
