This is my favorite Christmas card of '06 and as I didn't get them all sent there are some for '07 and this challenge.
The star is wooden from the unfinished wood bins at Micheal's (10¢ each what a bargin). I colored a bit in from the edges with an orangey yellow pencil then painted the whole thing with yellow acrylic paint.
The streams of light are embroidery floss. I made a pattern for holes and taped the ends on the back side of the blue paper.
The blue paper is dark but had no texture/life to it so it is sponged with nearly navy ink. Then after the floss was taped on the back it was put on a grey card stock.
The city of david was stamped by a friend in a parts swap.
The foreground is actually sand paper. I apologize for the blurry pic but I'm not about to put sandpaper on my scanner.
