DD#2 second grade homework was for the family to decorate an ornament. The paper was sent home with the ornament drawn on and we had to fill it in as a family. We made a Christmas tree out of scrapbook paper by tracing our hands! Daddy's hands are at the bottom, then mommy's and so on until the very top is the baby's! The presents under the tree are what the kids want for Christmas. DD#2 loves flamingos so she used her flamingo pasta as "ornaments" on the tree. I made the star topper, wheeled the flamingo wheel on printer paper. Also made the top of the "ornament" with the flamingo wheel. Add stickles here and there to give some "lights". She and I sponged and dragged ink pads onto the ornament so it wouldn't be so stark white. We even did our own version of faux woodgrain for the floor!
This goes back to school to be on display until Christmas break where it will come home and have place of honor above our mantel every Christmas here after!

What a great family project. So nice all the hands. Usually you make a turkey but never a tree. Love the idea. What a nice thing to display every Christmas.
