What a wonderful Tea Party this is going to be with all the waterlilies cards based on Monet gorgeous paintings.
A few years ago I was able to see some of these beautiful paintings when they were on exhibition at the National Art Gallery of Australia here in Canberra. I was there for hours going from painting to painting and sitting and looking at them all. Hope they bring some of them back again.
Anyway - back to my card. Yes - I knew that I had one waterlily stamp in my collection and knew just which box it was pocked away in. Found it within minutes of opening the box. There were so many wonderful stamps in that box and I will have to get back to them again. This was a large wood mounted stamp. Tried inking up and stamping - only to find that there were parts of the stamp under missing - in the middle of the dragon fly and one of the waterlilies. Tried stamping again and again but no difference no matter how hard I pressed on the wooden stamp. Looked like I was out of the Tea Party this month. Washed the stamp to clean it and ran it under hot water thinking that it might make the stamp return back to normal. Nope. Anyway I had a brain wave (rare thing for me - giggle). As the stamp was still warm from the hot water I was able to peel it off the wood block. Rummaged around and found some EZ Mount. Put the rubber stamp on the EZ Mount - and there you are now have a nice clean image using Misti and no missing bubbles.
Coloured the image with Twinklng H20s for some sparkle and inked the dragonfly wings with Gel Glitter Pens. After recovering my normal eyesight after the dotting of the gel pens on the wings I added some sparkle to the flowers as well. Enough sparkle - put the pens away. Framed with matching card.
I will add the following sentiment inside the card:
I must have flowers, always and always. - Claude Monet
Hope you enjoy.

Wow, that is beautiful and must be even more so in real life with the Twinkling H2Os. Relieved to read that it was gel pens for the wings, I couldn't imagine dotting those with a teensy brush. I had been thinking of an unmounted Asian style triptych with waterlilies and a dragonfly buti knew it was hard to stamp. I'm glad you persevered with yours. I've gone for unmounting a lot of my older wood ones but I can't bear to do it with the Penny Black and Hero Arts ones.

Oh my gosh, Helen, this is stunningly beautiful. The flowers are beautifully painted, and the dragonfly wings are worth having crossed eyes for a spell. I am so glad you perserved and made this card. (If you don't like unmounting stamps, try placing the paper on the floor, put the inked stamp on top of it, then press down with your foot. Sounds wierd but someone recommended the process to me, and I've found it to be successful.)

Absolutely beautiful card, Helen, what a lovely stamp to have for this challenge! Your colouring is fantastic, would have taken a long time colouring their wings! I, too, went to the Monet Exhibition all those years ago, try get down to Canberra for their big exhibitions~

I have always wanted to visit Giverny. This card is like you captured a little bit of it. I love my woodblock stamps so it is nice to see you were able to persevere and succeed with this beauty. Colouring the dragonfly wings with gel pens was genius. I bet the sparkle is wonderful. Super card!
