WT1107 Christmas eclipse
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: stampingwriter

The Ways to Use It challenge today focuses on an eclipse. Sabrina provides two options – feature a sun and moon on your card OR use the two-tier eclipse technique. I am extremely late to the party on two-tier eclipse, having just tried it a month ago, so I wanted to do it again. I used the technique to create a popped-up Christmas tree in the panel with Christmas-tree-patterned paper. It was hard to photograph the card so you could see the dimension, but it’s there IRL. All three pattern papers are from a pack of Christmas pattern paper I paid $1 or $2 for at Goodwill, and this was the first time I used it.

Beautiful Christmas card, Sandy. That tree looks so good using the eclipse technique. I am not sure I have ever done the eclipse technique but if I have, I have forgotten when. Really well done here, my friend. Hugz

What a cool way to make a Christmas card! I love the white behind your tree.

I'm amazed that you've only first tried the technique that recently - it's a real fun one and carries a lot of impact. I like the idea of using a tree and tree paper - you and Karen have inspired me to look through my DP to see if I have anything I can use with my big tree die.

Your two tier eclipse tree creates such striking dimension against the trio of Christmas patterns, and the way you aligned the die cut with the tree themed paper gives the whole panel a cohesive flow while the raised layers add crisp shadow that makes the design feel lively and festive with the bold red embossing bringing in just the right touch of holiday brightness.
