I did a new technique for this card. Using a piece of kraft paper, I embossed the piece the usual way, taped the paper into the folder so it wouldn't move, then dragged a Distress pad over the debossed side and embossed again. You don't want the paper to move. Used the unicorn ink to lighten the flowers and leaves. Very fun and easy. I could have added another layer of the dark ink but I like the swiping marks.
Thanks for the challenge! Lovely things. I want to know who will be the first to buy from them. Not I! But fun to look at.

I love the look of the depth that you got with the debossing!

Turned out beautifully! I agree with Stacy - the swipe marks give your background a woodgrain effect. Very cool.

This is really beautiful, Jean! Thanks for telling how you achieved the result! Adding ink to the debossed areas and then adding the light ink gives such a pretty look!

Oh my goodness, such a cool technique! It looks like woodgrain behind your embossed flowers. Great result!

Your layered embossing with the kraft base creates such a rich sense of depth and texture, and the way you controlled the ink on the debossed areas gives the flowers and leaves a soft luminous quality that plays beautifully against the darker swiped tones, which read almost like aged carved wood, and I really like how the lighter unicorn ink lifts the details without losing the organic feel of the technique.
