Lincoln
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: jkanack

This card is slightly smaller than A2 because I found the base for the card in my scraps; I think it's an older SU color, maybe river rock. I thought it looked good with the kiwi kiss.
I used Wednesday's sketch to create this card for today's WT and the ABC24K for kiwi or khaki. I used both, using some kraft for the khaki. Instead of the rectangle on the left from the sketch, I just stamped the silhouette and then drew on top to represent that rectangle.
Abraham Lincoln, one of our best presidents, if not the best, was very wise. I have read lots of books about him and they always make me feel very proud. He wasn't perfect; no one is but he really put the country ahead of his own agenda. I can't imagine how difficult his life was when young and then again during the war. PS I guess maybe Lincoln didn't actually say this....not sure who did. Maybe he said something similar. Sorry!
Super challenges, everyone!!!! Thanks!

How to complete three challenges with one card. I like the way you thought "outside the box" by drawing the lines instead of adding a layer. Nice little card!

I like those hand-drawn rectangles, too. It's a good and true saying, even though it's usually attributed 'elsewhere' lol. The paper is such a great colour. I need to find some like that.

Wise words, indeed. Beautiful use of the sketch. I like how you drew one of the elements in the layout. Creative! Great job with the letter K, too.

Love how you drew lines for the sketch challenge. And a new color of Versafine clair! Lovely and the addition of the green Stickles is perfect!
Gotta love Abe!

Your hand-drawn box for the sketch panel is very creative. I also used a Lincoln quote for this challenge, making him the second most-quoted source in this gallery, I think.

This is lovely, Jean. I like how you did the sketch and that quote, whether said by Abraham Lincoln or not, is very good.

The mix of kiwi, kraft, and that soft mystery base creates such a warm, grounded palette, and the silhouette really stands out against it. Your hand‑drawn panel is a clever way to honor the sketch while keeping the design light. The quote pairs beautifully with the leafy image, and the subtle sparkle from the Stickles adds just the right lift.

I really like the addition of the line frame over the silhouetted foliage. Always a fan of silhouettes.

I like Abe Lincoln's quotes too. Your card is a nice tribute to him.
