WT1098 Howl You Doin'?
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: PeonySnail

Sabrina's challenge today is in honor of William Caxton, the first printer to use a moveable type press in England. Since he printed the first English translation of Aesop's Fables, I went with a common character from the fables, the wolf. I printed the sentiment from my computer as a contrast to the somber wolf and color scheme.

It's a fun sentiment. It makes me think of a wildlife park we visited in the Pyrenees - you could rent a cabin beside the wolf enclosure and stay there overnight. Great masculine card. I like that faint hint of woodgrain behind the wolf.

The wolf on his banner layered on the forest background looks great!

Great wolf image - I really like the way you've placed him on the banner shaped frame.

The wolf has such a striking presence here, especially with that deep, moody palette. The banner shape gives him a strong focal perch, and the subtle woodgrain behind the trees adds just enough texture to echo the forest setting. The crisp printed sentiment balances the somber scene and pulls the whole design together.
