Today's technique challenge (TLC1100) gave us many choices from the past eleventy-hundred challenges. I chose TLC300 which was to combine at least two challenges from the master list to that point in time. From that list I chose:
TLC #30 - Cut-Out Cards
TLC # 84 - Black & White
TLC #82 - Doodling
The cut-out part was a little more finicky than I thought it would be (I do LOVE my dies). The black and white part was easy - but leaving blank space around the edges to keep it CAS was hard for me. The doodling - let's just say I remembered why I DON'T do doodling on my cards. It doesn't come naturally to me.
The CAS891 challenge today was to use a stamp that was new or rarely used. I dug out my Kindness Matters set by Verve (oh my how I miss Julie's stamps and release parties). I may have used the blooms years ago but the sentiments in the set were pristine. The inside of the card has partial blooms stamped in opposite corners and the sentiment "Thanks for being so kind" from the same set. My cut-out frame is popped up on foam tape. Fussy cut a smaller bloom for the centre of the cut-out flower and popped it up on foam tape.
Scrolling through the old challenges I saw so many names of stampers who aren't on SCS anymore. Makes me a bit nostalgic.
It is good to be back to creating/uploading.Thanks for popping by to have a look.

This is a wonderful CAS design with a great sentiment. I have been here for 20 years and have also seen many come and go. I know a few who are no longer with us. I guess it's good to remember them from time to time. In the meantime, I will try to stay posting as I have been away for a few months.

Great combination of challenges and a great final design. Love your doodling and the flower. It's a bonus that the card has a window, but I would love it as much without it.

You combined all your crisp black and white elements beautifully, Heather! I thought I recognized Verve flowers!! Your doodles make a fun framework. Cute little CAS creation.

How lovely. Yes, I miss Verve stamps too, they are the ones right at the front in my plastic crate of clear stamps. I think your did a super job with the cut-out framing.
