A Child's Christmas Wish
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: susanbri

WT1080 = World Children's Day - feature a child in your card. I've got a little girl in my card hugging a pony that she wants for Christmas.

I used non-Christmas stamps but made it very Christmas-y by using red and green borders and stamping the tree in green and the sentiment in red. I combined two different Christmas sentiments to reflect the child's desire for a pony.

The image is by an old English cartoonist called Thelwell - he did hilarious cartoons of kids riding ponies.

You've made a beautiful Christmas card using the traditional colors and these stamps, I love the girl with the horse

Haha, how many little kids have asked for a pony since asking Santa for gifts was the norm???? And how many little ones actually received a pony? I'd really like to know. I really really think this card is just super duper!

Love this. I feel like there are so many kids who'd put pony on the top of their Christmas list.

The way you combined non-Christmas stamps with traditional holiday colors is so clever, and the little girl hugging the pony captures such a timeless wish. The layered borders and mix of sentiments make the design feel both playful and heartfelt, perfectly echoing the child’s dream.

Just about every girl I knew wanted a pony, but living in NYC, not an option unless you had A LOT of money and could board it at Central Park! Great way to use those stamps for a Christmas card!

Susan, this came out so well. What girl doesn't wish for this every Christmas? Fun. Hugz
