This week's Ways to Use It Challenge involves using tape. Long, long ago, I bought a package of silver tape that is cut to create words. (The package calls it Frame tape.) I have only used it a few times, so this seemed like a good reason to pull it out. The words all flow into one another, so I had to cut carefully to separate a few out to be the sentiment for my card. The image is a gift from Sue in Australia, who sent it in a tickle. The flower is a protea, which Iâm not familiar with, so I googled it to find out what colors to use. Mostly, they seem to be pink, although some have a purple center. This is the first time Iâve used the spotlight technique in a very long while.

Foil tape is my favourite, and yours sounds like something similar only sturdier. It's always tricky cutting die-cut words apart, but you did a great job. There are proteas in the Temperate Zone glasshouse in our Botanic Gardens, I always like seeing them.

What a clever way to revive that silver tape—your precision in separating the words really paid off, and the sentiment flows beautifully with the design. The spotlight technique adds such a thoughtful touch, especially paired with the protea image. I love how you researched the flower’s colors to honor its natural beauty. This card feels both inventive and heartfelt.

Sandy, I love how you have used the Spotlight technique on the protea flower and you have coloured it beautifully! I like the silver foil for the sentiment, too!
