The Alphabet Challenge for this week is the letter "W".
All ready for a little history lesson.
Ok - lets begin. The story of Winnie the Pooh all started in the town of White River, Ontario. A little bear cub was bought for $20 by a Canadian Soldier and Veterinarian with the Fort Garry Horse Calvary Regiment. He named his little Bear "Winnipeg Bear" after his home town of Winnipeg. Harry joined his fellow soldiers heading overseas to World War 1. When the unit was told that they were going to France he found out that he couldn't take Winnie with him and she was "loaned" to the London Zoo where she dearly loved by all the zoo visitors. She was very tame and the children could ride on her back and feed her. One of the most frequent visitors was A. A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin. We all know what happened next. The first Book called "Winnie the Pooh" was published on 14 October 1926. End of History lesson.
I stamped, embossed and coloured my Winnie. Fussy cut her out and layered her onto a die cut Distress Oxide background. Framed in dark brown and on an matching card.
Hope you enjoy the history lesson about Winnie the little Canadian black bear.

What an incredible bear image and so wonderfully colored. I like the distress oxide die cut background as well. I loved the reminder about how Winnie the Pooh came to be, very fun.

I have heard that story about Winnie. Your bear certainly has an interior story to tell as well. Beautifully coloured as usual. Love the warm background and overall use of yellow. Super!
