 | | Today's F4A Challenge is make your own background. A nice simple challenge for me to finally make some baby cards. I have the cutest new neighbor! His name's Elijah. I made an Elijah card too. This one is for baby Julian, who is another new member of the baseball family. They're both over a month old, but you know how I am. Late for everything. I still have to make them some "Future All-Star" onesies.
Back to the challenge--I've been trying to use up some of the backgrounds that I have stashed in my background drawer instead of making new ones. I can't remember how I made this one, but it is fabulous. Marbled on some hot press WC paper and very shimmery. I tried to look back in my gallery and find the original card that used one of these backgrounds to find out how I made it, but I couldn't find it.
This cute teddy bear die was also on my to do list. Very cute and easy to assemble. I die cut from a scrap of brown paper and sponged some dark brown ink for a shadow. I colored the eyes and nose with Sharpie and added white gel pen highlights. Then I added some rosy cheeks and ears with pink colored pencil and a little bit of highlight with a white colored pencil. He's popped up on foam squares. The names are done using one of my favorite techniques - Faux Heat Embossing. I die cut the letters from adhesive fun foam with packing tape on it. I love the look. |
