FS881 Lovely as a Christmas Card
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: Jennifrann

I just realized I never uploaded my card from Christmas Eve. I guess that's because I haven't stopped and rested since I made it! I had to make a little time to make a card on Sunday morning, because I needed one last Christmas card for my brother's best friend who was joining us for dinner. Fortunately, I found inspiration very quickly in DragonLady64's gallery. This card reminded me that I hadn't made a Christmas card with my favorite SU stamp set, Lovely As A Tree. I always make at least one Christmas card with that set! And I loved the torn paper masking that Kirra did for the snowbanks. So I grabbed my tree stamp and put it in my stamp positioner and inked it up with a green Versafine for a base. Then I randomly inked it up with Pine Needles and stamped, and Rustic Wilderness and stamped. Then I grabbed a dark brown Zig marker and colored in the tree trunk and some branches. I tore paper and sponged the snowbanks with Broken China. Mine didn't come out quite as nice as Kirra's. I added a doodled frame because my cards never feel finished without that step. I was going to emboss the sentiment and some ornaments on the tree, but I thought this sentiment was too dainty to emboss with a glittery EP. So I just stamped the sentiment and added some Stickles ornaments to the tree. I was very happy for a quick and easy card.

Love that stamp set! Your bright winter scene with a gorgeous spruce making the focal point is beautiful. Love your doodled frame.

Really beautiful, Jen. Super sponged background for the tree. To me the Stickles ornaments look like pinecones, I think it looks wonderful.
