 | | This is for Stacy's IC and her VSN-recipe cards.
My mother's mother, Lillian Kaiser Weinert, died when I was a year old. My Mom never talked about her except with an edge of bitterness about how hard she worked, how young she was (4 and unfair it was. It wasn't until just a few years ago that I found out that the nut bread my Mom made all those years was her mother's recipe. I think this recipe card is in my Mom's handwriting; she made her 't' in a particular way but maybe her Mom did too. I sure wish she had talked about her Mom in other ways. I only found out because when my Mom died, I got her recipe box. We all loved this bread; it was even better the next day but we ate it pretty quickly.
So I made a photo copy of the recipe, hard to read, stained, my Mom's finger prints probably; I mounted it in black and put it on top of some pretty paper that Mom would have liked. Put important words on top. That's it. This is also for today's IC: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/144537469280292429/ |
