My Raleigh is 8 on the 8th today! I've based his card on this fun poster that reminded me of my favorite book, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It also inspired me to put this fun bunny pirate ship on Raleigh's card. I went digging through my background drawer for pieces that had the same kind of colors as my inspiration picture and colored the pirate ship in the same colors. The water was an experiment where I took a negative piece of foil and applied it to a full sticky sheet. Then I sprinkled microfine glitter on the fish that still had the sticky exposed. It didn't work as well as I had hoped and still feels a little sticky. The sky is a gelli print that I made with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and a swirly background stamp. The sentiment banner is liquid watercolor splattered all over. I liked that you could see some fish swimming in the inspiration picture, so I also stamped this group of fish and added them. I hope Raleigh likes his card. I sure am looking forward to another year of our adventures--one of which is a cruise, so I think this is appropriate.

I'm sure Raleigh loved his card, as would anyone receiving it. I love the cute images and your design is fabulous. The fish in the ocean are so cute. And we all need to be reminded that life is an amazing adventure!
